Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 is a unique laser therapy designed to dramatically repair fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars while improving skin texture and pigmentation – even on delicate skin. Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 laser treatment targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen. And since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes very rapid healing. Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out.

Before your treatment in the consultation you will be instructed to use a special regimen for 3-4 weeks prior to laser which will prepare your skin for this procedure and will be used after the treatment. Use sunscreen daily level 30+ or ​​higher, avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before your treatment.

After your last treatment you should avoid exposing yourself to the sun for at least 3 months, you will use sunscreen level 30 + daily to avoid future sun damage.

It depends on your particular condition and how you care for your skin. Once your skin is treated, continue to protect it as described above. Your physician will give you specific advice based on your individual needs.

Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. To minimize discomfort, topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure and cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure. After the treatment, most patients feel like they have a sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours.

Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. Depending on your condition and schedule, you and the physician may choose to space treatment sessions further apart. Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in 2 to 3 months. This time frame and treatment structure allow for healing and the production of new collagen to replace damaged tissue.

First, your skin will be cleansed. Then, a topical anesthetic ointment will be applied to the treatment area for 1 hours. The Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 procedure takes 20 to 35 minutes for a full face. Last you will be given verbal and written post-care instructions. Appointment is reserve for 2 hours.

Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 cannot be performed on patients who are currently undergoing or have had Accutane treatment within the past 12 months, have a predisposition to keloid formation or excessive scarring or have suspicious legions. No use of tetracycline, minocyline, doxycycline, or erythromycin in last month. Any history of vitiligo, scleroderma, collagen disorders, radiation treatment, skin cancer, psoriasis, keloid formation, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

During the healing process, redness, swelling and peeling after each treatment are expected for the first week as the skin heals, all of these will diminish once the dead skin peels off, leaving fresh skin, brighter and smoother. Depending on each induvial genetics healing time could be 10- 14 days.

 Greater swelling occurs in the lower lids when the eye area is treated. More serious side effects are rare, but most can be avoided by proper sun avoidance before and after the procedure and following the post-procedure instructions.

Stretch marks are caused by changes in our body that stretch the skin, such as rapid weight gain or loss, pregnancy, rapid growth in adolescence, or increased muscle size.

Fraxel Dual laser treatment reduces stretch marks by inducing collagen growth and elastin production to improve skin texture, inflammation, and elasticity.

When stretch marks are red (newer/months old),  fraxel laser can be very effective and faster in reducing redness and improving the appearance of texture with at least 3-4 sessions for the best stretch mark reduction.

However, when the stretch marks are white (years old) the texture is deeply marked, it is a longer and more difficult process because it will require multiple treatments to achieve a greater reduction compared to the new stretch marks. An improvement can be obtained depending on the genetics, age and current condition of each individual.  It requires at least 4-6 sessions for the best stretch mark reduction.
